Hi everybody, who is new to our outstanding and powerful community of developers! Here you'll find the basic rules and directions on how to use our community, how we can benefit from our communication. Read this post till the end to familiarise yourself with all the "do's" and "don'ts".

5 DEADLY SINS OF THE COMMUNITY

Sin #1. LINKS! Guys, please, don't even try to manipulate with posting the backlinks to your web sites and sources. We're here for professional purposes only. All the links are nofollow and even noindex! (except our own ones, of course). Will ban your IP address!

Sin #2. Illegal content. Everything that is prohibited by the law is tabu here as well!

Sin #3. Insulting, swearing and bullying (or anything alike) and any other kind of offensive behavior towards the other community members, even if the opponent really deserves that, is prohibited! The sin is punished with an IP address ban.

Sin #4. Arrogant and disguised promotion or advertising and spam. If we consider your post to be too promotional - we'll definitely delete it and put you on "close monitoring". In case you repeat the action, we'll give you a warning. After the third case, we'll ban your profile.

*If you have something great to spread a word about contact us via rogov@paragon-software.com and let's discuss the topic. Maybe we can arrange some publicity for you if it's worth it. Read our guest articles guidelines.

Sin #5. NEVER ask for emails, phones, or other sensitive personal information.

GENERAL POSTING GUIDELINES

1. Search your question first!

Please search the community forum before starting a topic. There is a good chance your issue has already been addressed earlier. Sometimes this can be an even easier and faster way to find the answer. If you haven't found the proper topic, just push the "New Topic" button.

2. Put the core of the question to the subject

When our community members browse our topics they can understand your issue by just reading the subject pf the topic. So, the more descriptive subject you provide, the more likely you attract proper people's attention and receive an answer.

3. Posting images and other media

You can add images and "screenshots" for the purpose to support your question or better explain a problem. Inappropriate media will be removed.

4. Language

We respect all of the languages in the world. But beware, that using the English language as an international, you'll more likely find . more Do not use obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, or excessively violent language.

We welcome our community members to contribute to our content. We appreciate really interesting articles, reviews, research works - just anything that can be helpful for our community. We've got the Community Blog where we can publish the stuff of our members.

We appreciate the author's hard work but we do strive for the best quality of everything we post on our Developers portal. So, once the topic is approved, you'll receive a lot of feedback and will be working closely with the editors, before we can publish the final piece.

Our guest article submission guidelines are on their way, we still receive your ideas and stuff via email rogov@paragon-software.com

Currently, we've got the capacity to answer almost anyone but the feedback may come with a little delay. Please, do not re-pitch us =) We'll get in touch with you if we consider this necessary.

What is the best piece of content for us

We publish articles with no less than 1,500 words volume. The more - the better. We also appreciate graphics and illustrations for the articles, especially we adore infographics and schemes. The best topics for our technical portal blog contains the following:

Evergreen software development instructions and guides

IT and software development news, updates, reviews and projects helpful for backup, cloud storage, disk management, file systems and databases.

Cases when some type of software development issue has been solved with the detailed solution description.

Innovative and game-changing open-source software solutions, applications or ideas.

All should be well-considered explorations of current and cutting-edge topics in the web industry.

How to submit an article

Email us your submission - rogov@paragon-software.com

You may submit a rough draft, a partial draft, or a short pitch (a paragraph or two summarizing your argument and why it matters to our readers) paired with an outline. The more complete your submission is, the better feedback we can give you. Keep in mind that we only accept original content—we do not publish anything that’s been published elsewhere (including on your blog).

The procedure of article submissions reviews is the following:

We review your submission and determine if it is what we need.

If it fits our current needs, the editor reviews and discusses it with the Pargon Portal team.

The editor gets back with notes.

Once you’ve addressed our corrections, send your revised draft back, so we could discuss it again.

In case your article is accepted, we schedule it for publication. But beware, that we can’t give you a specific publication date until the article is polished and finalized to go live.
